I believe that we are all one. We are all connected through the greater energy matrix.
I started riding with Margie when I was 9 years old. It has been 10 years since then and I have learned and improved so much. When I first came to Myrddin, I had had a negative experience with cantering and was absolutely terrified of it. Within a few months, Margie and her incredible school horses taught me to comfortably canter.
Learning with Margie has been such a positive experience for me. Her years of experience are very evident in her teachings. Even if I don’t understand something the first time around, she is able to explain it from another perspective that works.
Margie’s help was integral as well when my mom and I bought our first horse. We consulted her with every horse we went to see and we are so happy with the result. Not only is Margie an amazing coach, she is also a great friend and overall life mentor.
I have been a student of Myrddin for over 10 years, starting as an adult rider. I did not have the benefit of a traditional horse education, such as pony club, and lacked the background knowledge to learn as quickly as one would want. Despite that, I was welcomed into the Myrddin family and have learned immensley under Margie’s tutelage. Her patience and ability to teach put me at ease right away and she has an exceptional ability to explain everything to a layman.
Getting back in the saddle – the right way
After a 15 year riding gap and having two kids, getting back in the saddle was a challenge. Margie was recommended to me by a friend who knew I was looking for quality instruction. Margie is known in the riding community as an excellent teacher and I couldn’t agree more. She has a patient, detailed way about her and she knows your boundaries better than you. She’s tough but kind and will engage with you fully when you do not understand something (including pretending to be a horse to explain four-leg foot work). She provides a lot of feedback regarding your body alignment and puts a lot of emphasis on building a connection with your horse. She ensures you have a thorough understanding of the basics and will champion you on to greater achievements if that is your ambition. Through her years teaching, Margie has amassed a collective of devoted students and created a supportive, lively community which I feel privileged to be a part of.
